MOLINA DE SEGURA, THE RICHEST MUNICIPALITY IN THE REGION OF MURCIA, VILLAS LA QUINTA 02/10/2025
MURCIA. Molina de Segura is once again the wealthiest municipality in the Region of Murcia. This city, the fourth most populated in the region, has an average gross income of €32,691, as reflected in the Personal Income Tax Filers Statistics for the 2023 tax year among cities with more than 1,000 inhabitants in Spain, published this Wednesday by the Tax Agency. The regional average stands at €27,013, while the national average is €31,333. This is the third consecutive year that Molina has topped the regional ranking, having overtaken Murcia in 2021. The Molina municipality improved its income per capita by 2.95% compared to 2022, which ended with €31,755. Furthermore, it is €1,712 ahead of Murcia, which, with its average of €30,979, is second in the table. Both towns are the only ones in the region that exceed the €30,000 threshold. In third place, rounding out the podium, is Cartagena, with an income of €29,082, up from €28,090 the previous year. The port city regains third place, which it lost in 2022 to Las Torres de Cotillas, which now sits in fifth place with €26,506. The Torres municipality has lost income, as in 2022 it recorded €28,115, according to Treasury figures.
